Spinal Alignment and all joint mobility is an interesting point of discussion with patients. Having been in practice for over 20yrs now it’s even more key as I see the changes in patients and the ageing process unfold even more evidently with those who fell behind in the self-care paradigm.

If your spine is out of alignment, it may not cause pain but can inherently slow you down in your gait, and other body movements. Your muscles have to work harder and this puts pressure on the all the joints of the body, spine included…. Especially the weight-bearing knees, hips, ankles and feet. This can eventually lead to arthritis, pain, poor mobility and stooped posture.

So just like going in to see your dentist for regular check-ups, your eye doc or MD, it’s just as important to see an Osteopath or Chiropractor for body alignment. Some of my healthiest patients are those that come in regularly for check-ups or tune-ups… So to speak.

Until the next blog…

Stay well and keep moving!
